The A10 Women's Ministry invites the ladies to come learn to paint with watercolor. You will learn about water control and various painting techniques and have a lot of fun! Each participant will take home a kit complete with one paintbrush, a 12-color paint set, a 10-well palette, and a pad of watercolor paper. Space is limited to the first twelve participants.

The Tiny Porch concert series is a 100% grassroots event organized by neighbors in Woodland Heights.

Held on Sunday evenings from June to October, each Tiny Porch event revolves around three host porches featuring two sets of musical performances throughout the evening. This encourages the audience to enjoy a relaxed opportunity to explore the charming streets of Woodland Heights and for neighbors "to come together, share smiles, engage in conversations, and relish in the music of local, diverse Richmond artists."

Come join friends from Area 10 in a relaxed, family-friendly setting of music and fellowship to see the talented artists Richmond has to offer on Sunday, August 18th, from 5-8 p.m. The event takes place at three different but close-together addresses. Grab your tube and sunblock and join us for a leisurely float down a portion of the James River on Saturday, August 10th. We’ll float from Huguenot Flatwater to Pony Pasture. This is relaxation at its best, with a bit of excitement on the small rapids towards the end of our trip!

Have you ever thought about learning a martial art? We will be meeting at the MMA Institute on Friday nights from 6:50 - 8 pm. We will train in either boxing, Muay Thai, or Brazilian jujitsu. All levels of experience welcome to join us at 2810: a community gathering place on Thursday, August 8th to learn the science and magic behind the 80’s phenomenon: the Rubik’s Cube! Beginners can learn the basics and the first couple steps, and those who already know how to solve can use timers (provided) to compete with one another. We will also work on a group mosaic. Cubes will be provided, but if you have one please bring it!

This is the first of four disc golf events (including a full 18-hole course at Hardywood at the end of the month)!! All are welcome, no skill level required! New to the game? A few of us have extra discs to lend if needed and are happy to give newcomers who want to try disc golf any help and advice we can!

We will tee off at 5:30pm at Giles Creek Park off of Williamsburg Rd. Depending on how many people arrive we may do a couple of groups. Kids are welcome.

Harlow, will be opening his home and vast comic book library to those interested in seeing original X-Men comics from the '60s, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, or some great independent comics. Swap stories, show off your own comic book memorabilia, or simply come and nerd out as we flip through history! (Please note: This event is for adults.)

This event was originally scheduled for July, but was rescheduled to Saturday, August 3rd.

Join us for a family-friendly excursion to Westmoreland State Park! Approx. 90 minutes from Richmond, this beautiful riverfront park offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy a fun day outdoors. Paddle the Potomac, trek the trails, or search for shark teeth on Fossil Beach. At 1pm, learn more about the park's ambassador animals, Reba the Corn Snake or Stevie the King Snake, as they feed on a frozen mouse! Stay until evening to enjoy some toe-tapping tunes during Music on the Cliffs

We'll meet at the park's Discovery Center parking lot at 11am for a BYO picnic before heading to Fossil Beach; otherwise feel free to drop in at any point during the day and leave when you want.

Have you ever thought about learning a martial art? We will be meeting at the MMA Institute on Friday nights from 6:50 - 8 pm. We will train in either boxing, Muay Thai, or Brazilian jujitsu. Afterward, we will meet down the road in Powhite Park to walk it out, chat, and connect. Don't be afraid to come just because you've never trained! This is an all-skill-level class! Just bring some exercise gear, a mouth guard and gloves (if you've got them), and a positive attitude! Also, check out and sign up for our follow-up dates: July 12 and July 19.
