Grab your tube and sunblock and join us for a leisurely float down a portion of the James River on Saturday, August 10th. We’ll float from Huguenot Flatwater to Pony Pasture. This is relaxation at its best, with a bit of excitement on the small rapids towards the end of our trip!

Every year, the Gurney family runs a fundraiser to raise money for a memorial scholarship fund for Blake Gurney’s brother, Brian. This will be the fourth year since we have brought the Gurney Tourney to RVA! We will be tipping off at the courts at Randolph Community Center just after 10 AM, double elimination until we are done! We’d love to have y'all come out and have some fun hooping it up in Brian's memory. There is no fee to play, but donations to Brian's scholarship fund are welcomed! Kids are welcome. The Tiny Porch concert series is a 100% grassroots event organized by neighbors in Woodland Heights.

Held on Sunday evenings from June to October, each Tiny Porch event revolves around three host porches featuring two sets of musical performances throughout the evening. This encourages the audience to enjoy a relaxed opportunity to explore the charming streets of Woodland Heights and for neighbors "to come together, share smiles, engage in conversations, and relish in the music of local, diverse Richmond artists."

Come join the Easons in a relaxed, family-friendly setting of music and fellowship to see the talented artists Richmond has to offer on Sunday, July 21st, from 4-7 p.m. The event takes place at three different but close-together addresses. We will move from one porch to another as each concert begins/ends. Meet-up information will be sent out the week before the event.

The wait is over and summer is here! And with it, the third annual A10 Super Slip N' Slide day. Trying to beat the heat in RVA? Head 20 minutes north, where we've stocked up on dish soap and ordered a 100ft clear plastic tarp with pool noodle bumpers. Take a leisurely ride down the slide in the cool water or get a running start and see how fast you can go. If you don't want to slide down, come anyway and hang out with the crew. We'll provide lots of water, drinks, and snacks, but feel free to bring your own. Guaranteed good times!

Are you already an avid birder or possibly just a fledgling looking spread your wings? Join us for a morning of birding at Dutch Gap Conservation Area in Chesterfield County. Dutch Gap is one of the Richmond area's premier birding locations, with a great variety of habitats supporting myriad bird species. Expect 2 to 3 miles of slow-paced walking on paved roads and gravel trails with several spots to stop and observe the birds. BYOB (bring your own binoculars)

If you enjoy strategizing, building long roads, trading resources, navigating new worlds, and outsmarting your friends to victory, then this board game night is for you. We’ll meet at 6:30 pm at 2810: a community gathering place and wrap up around 10pm. Feel free to bring a board game you are comfortable teaching a group, or just come ready to play.

We will have another board game night on August 2nd so be sure to sign up for that as well!

Do you have a craft you keep meaning to work on, but just haven't found the time? This event is for you! Feel free to join us to chat and snack as we work on our projects at 2810, a community gathering place on Tuesday, June 18th, at 6:30pm. Crochet, knit, paint, embroider, basket weave, color - the choice is yours! (Please note: No glitter allowed in 2810.) This event is free and kids interested in crafting are welcome to participate. Please note that crafting supplies will not be provided - Bring your own from home!

Kayak 6.5 miles on Hanover's finest Pamunkey River. This is leisurely kayaking and requires little to no paddling to finish on time. I'll be fishing as we go and you're welcome to do the same or just enjoy the water and watch for bald eagles, deer, otters and other wildlife. If you don't have a kayak, I have a limited amount of extras that will be first come, first serve. Last year we had some paddle boarders brave the water as well. The float should take about 3 hours so bring some sun screen and any drinks/snacks you want on your journey.

Join us for a fun-filled evening of crafting and music as we enjoy Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in a backyard setting! On Friday, June 14th, from 6-8pm, we invite you to create your own Taylor Swift friendship bracelets while enjoying the magic of her iconic performances. Bring your own beads and creativity, and join us outside for a delightful crafting session. Whether you're a die-hard Swiftie or simply love making friendship bracelets, this event is for you! Kids are more than welcome, so bring the whole family along for an evening of creativity and entertainment.

Discover the benefits of T'ai Chi in a welcoming and supportive environment. Join us for a six-week T'ai Chi course, starting June 13th on varying Thursdays (see full schedule below). Led by Donald Sturniolo, this free class will introduce you to the basic exercises and the first 12 postures of T'ai Chi. While this class is open to children, they must be ready to participate in the class.
